学校基本情况
简介
新南威尔士大学成立于1949年，坐落在悉尼这座澳大利亚最大、也最国际化的城市，是澳大利亚八大教育集团中的综合性大学，也是享有国际声望的21所国际大学联盟组织的重要成员。在校生总计四万，其中包括9000名国际学生。
新南威尔士大学是澳洲八大五星级名校之一，也是东南亚、欧洲及北美洲最负盛名的“21世纪大学集团”的成员，以理工学科见长。新南威尔士大学欢迎来自世界各地的入学申请者，从1952年起大学便开始接受亚洲学生入读。
新南威尔士大学主校区位于肯辛顿，在悉尼地区，占地38公顷，距悉尼市火车站、机场都很近，交通便利。另有3处校区，即艺术学院、圣乔治分校和国防军事学院。前二者也都在悉尼附近，后者在堪培拉。

光伏、太阳能与可再生能源
unsw拥有澳大利亚最大的工程学院（faculty of engineering）和亚太地区领先的太阳能与可再生能源学院（school of solar an renewable energy）。
unsw研发了世界上能源效率最高的太阳能电池，至今仍保持着这一纪录。该学院的一位著名校友就是中国大型太阳能电池制造商——无锡尚德电力控股有限公司的首席执行官施正荣。
