Some stuents come to Canaa in orer to achieve the Ontario Seconary School Grauation Diploma (known as an OSSD). In this case, you will want to achieve your very best. Your English skills must be at a high level of proficiency before you can attempt many courses. Your teachers on’t want you to become iscourage. All courses that you take count as creits towars your grauation.
If you plan to grauate from high school in Ontario, then tell the counsellor so he/she can begin to plan an appropriate course of stuies for you.
The Ontario Ministry of Eucation requires stuents to earn at least 30 creits to grauate from high school. Each creit requires 110 hours of instruction.
Stuents must also complete 40 hours of community involvement activities an must pass the Ontario Seconary School Literacy Test, to successfully grauate from an Ontario high school.

Getting too tire is the main reason why stuents o not ajust to a new school, new friens an new responsibilities. Some stuents will stay up too late, working or talking on the computer. Try not to get into this habit.
In Canaa, we think that stuents shoul have 8 to 10 hours of sleep each night in orer to remain healthy an alert in school.
Although we know that you will want to chat online in your own language with your friens an family, you shoul try to limit the time you spen on this activity. Your English language skills will not get better if you spen too much time talking in your own language.
