杜伦大学是分为四个大系，艺术与人文，商业，科学以及社会科学与健康。同时又分为了17个学院。杜伦市校区是杜伦大学的主要校区，它包括总共16个学院中的14个以及大部分的学系。女王校区成立于1992年，它位于距离杜伦市校区30分钟的蒂斯河畔斯托克顿镇。该校区约有2,000名全日制学生，拥有2个学院（约翰·斯诺学院和斯蒂芬孙学院），沃尔夫森研究所也坐落于这里。只有少数科目需要在女王校区学习。现有课程包括：医学（与纽卡斯尔大学共享）、生物医学、会计、商科和金融、应用心理学、小学教育和人文科学。
