另外，PS是申请材料中，为数不多由你自己控制的环节，也是你能给招生办留下良好印象的机会。
这个时候，他们不看你的成绩，只看你能不能打动他们。
如果学校竞争激烈，大家成绩又差不多，那么一个好的PS就是成功的关键。
了解你的读者
想要知道PS究竟怎么写，你要先分析招生办老师关心什么：
他们其实想搞明白下面几件事情：
1、我们是否想要这个学生来学习这门课程?
2、我们是否想要这个学生来我们的学校学习?
这两个问题可以分解为以下几个小问题来解答：
1)这个学生是否适合他/她所申请的课程?
2)这个学生是否具备他/她所申请的课程需要的素质?
3)这个学生是否有足够的毅力、勤奋的品格以及不会轻易辍学?
4)这个学生是否会全力以赴地达到这门课程所要求的各项能力?
5)这个学生是否能在高压底下工作?
6)这个学生是否能很快得调整好自己融入到大学的新环境?
7)他们的交际能力如何?
8)他们是否热爱这个课程并且做了仔细的研究
9)他们对课程是否有真正的兴趣并且渴望去做更深入的学习?
很多学生写作的时候，总忘记自己写的PS是给谁看的，所以陷入焦虑的状态。
其实当你知道你的读者是谁，他们想要什么，你就可以针对此，想办法打动他们。
但是你不能说，我特别擅长交际，你要用实例来证明，你确实擅长交际。
了解你自己
先不要急着去想文章的架构是什么，先想想你的成长经历。
从你小时候开始想，上小学，中学，高中，大学，研究生…
要尽可能的详细，提炼出其中的亮点。

你站在招生老师的角度想想就知道了，老师们希望招收的是那些有学习热情的学生，也许他们的理论知识还不够，但是一定要有信心，有热情！
所以不需要你有多专业，但是要证明你喜欢这个学校，这门学科，以及证明自己有能力很好的完成，就可以了。
所以我们有时候说，PS是有温度的。
关注申请课程
PS的一个很重要的作用，就是向人解释，你为什么要选择这个课程。
这其实是个匹配的过程，就跟找工作似的，也许你是个很优秀的编程人员，但是装修队不会录用你。
这块不要光想着迎合考官，而要想想你真正想学的是什么，你的热情在哪里，你擅长的是什么，这样你才能有东西可写。
下面是我根据一个学生的成绩单，给他写的内容：
学术背景不是非写不可，你需要根据自身的情况，选择相关的点来写。
写ps的原则
我见过的很多PS，更像是自我评价，将自身优点全部堆砌起来，丰功伟绩列出来，附带很多不合时宜的吹嘘。
聊天时我们能轻易识别夸夸其谈自我吹嘘的“伪君子”，并且自动屏蔽他的讲话内容，哪怕他讲的多半是真的。招生官看你的文书时也一样。
最好的名片永远是你的作品和做过的事。一个没有作品，但是长得超美超帅的明星，我们管她/他叫“偶像”，只有演技好，作品出色的，我们才称“演员”。
所以，建议大家把自己的本事藏在事例中，通过讲述自己遇事的反应、作为、成长和结果，来表现你的能力。把血脉藏在肉里，它才能流通。
当然，凡事过犹不及，同学们不要over-reaing这条原则，把PS写成story telling。
其他注意的点
尽量不要以“I”开头展开句子描述
1、尽量用有趣的词组做开头和结尾
2、尽量不要引用报纸杂志书籍上的名言警句，感觉像是表示你多么地饱读经书然后故意秀出来一样。
3、一定不要撒谎，要真实诚恳。
4、不要尝试在ps里面故作滑稽开玩笑
5、不要谈与你的申请无关的兴趣爱好
6、不要用生僻词汇
7、不要重复那些在大学申请表格上就有的内容
8、不要提及任何政治立场
开始ps写作
建议大家可以参考以下的写作结构：
第一段：清楚地陈述写作的目的，简述自己的背景，学术兴趣以及未来的目标。(这一段也可自由发挥，最好能够新颖别致，引人入胜。不要开头就是My name is …)
第二段，说明自己学习中取得的进步和成就，例如完成过的项目，实践过程与实践心得等。 1.科研能力，介绍自己的经验、技能、研究范围和研究成果。
2.专业方面，写出对未来的展望、自己的经验、领导能力、合作能力、创新能力等。
最好举实例来体现自己在本领域的能力。
第三段，陈述专业目标。在本段中可以从以下几个方面着手：
1.为什么选择此专业，是哪些方面吸引你?
2.你对本专业的理解，和学习本专业的优势
- 出国之后的计划和目标是什么?
4.在国外进修后对你的职业规划有何影响?
第四段，简述申请此学校的原因和留学英国的原因，如何与你的目标一致，学校的突出特点能够给予你的帮助。
第五段，简述自己为出国留学所做的准备，以及略表决心。致谢。
PS一般的长度为A4纸5号字一页半的长度比较合适。
出色的PS写作应该保持自身的独特性，结构清晰但避免公式化，避免陈述过多的基本信息，基本情况可以在简历中体现。

Q1： PS是否有字数限制？
A1： 首先记住，并没有明文规定，英国留学PS有字数限制，而且现在都是网申系统(EAS)，你的空间就更大了，不过你最好把字数控制在4000的英文字符、47行以内。
