专业概述：
The Economics program offers training in core economic theory courses as well as a number of fiel options. Most stuents opt for the non-thesis option given that it is the stanar in most grauate Economics programs in North America. This option consists of eight half courses an an extene research paper. Many stuents will take six courses uring their first year (three in fall, three in winter); two courses in the fall of the secon year an complete their extene paper in the winter of the secon year.

The purpose of the co-op option is to provie stuents with an opportunity to apply knowlege an skills acquire in the classroom an to obtain new insights an eucational experiences. Two four-month work terms (which may be taken consecutively) follow the first two terms of stuy.To procee to the co-op option, stuents must complete at least six half courses chosen from those require for the thesis an non-thesis options. The Departmental recommenation for the work terms will be base on the stuent’s acaemic performance an an interview with the Selection Committee consisting of representatives of the Department an the Stuent Success Centre . In consultation with the Department, the Career an Co-operative Eucation Services will make every effort to obtain suitable placements. Upon completion of the work terms, stuents will return to complete the remainer of their program.
