学科分类对于留学申请的定专业必要性
一. 通过对英国大学各个大院的组织机构以及学科设置的研究，发现真的各个大学的框架都是大同小异，或者高度集成，或者做的相对分散一些，总之相似度极大，所以可以大致研究明白他们认为哪些专业属于人文艺术，哪些属于社科专业哪些是工程和理学。
二. 又因为多数英国大学硕士专业，只对学生本科专业的学科范围做要求，所以需要知道你的本科专业落在哪个学科分类里面，这样定专业的问题就会得到最初步的解决，结合案例分析后，效果明显。

伯明翰大学其实和南安的组织机构差不多，只是叫法不一样。
总结：首先确定你本科专业在哪个学科领域，比如你本科经济学，金融学，会计学，投资学，财务管理，那么大学科范围就落在社会科学这个领域。你本科纯数学，大学科范围大概率就落在理学。统计学根据本科侧重点的不同，分几个方向：数理统计、经济统计和应用统计。会拿到理学学士学位和经济学学士学位。但是经济统计，仍然是数学，申请的时候可以默认为是数学密集型专业申请。
