i am please to provie you with some clarity about griffith＇s plans for teaching in trimester 2, 2020 an our approach to managing commission payments.
the commencement ate of trimester 2, 2020 has been ajuste from 6 july to 13 july to provie one extra week of break for our current stuents as they ajust to the transition to online elivery, an to support ecision making for those stuents consiering future stuy with us. the university is upating its acaemic calenar to reflect this.
given there are ongoing health an safety concerns as the community an meical services strive to contain the sprea of covi-19 in australia, griffith will be continuing to eliver courses online in trimester 2, 2020, with a plan to return to campus as soon as it is safe to o so. at that time, there will be a focus on elivery of those components of teaching which are ifficult to eliver online, incluing some laboratory an practical elements of courses.
as there continue to be travel restrictions affecting travel to australia, we are please to be able to offer international stuents overseas, an those in australia, the opportunity to commence their stuies through online elivery, then transition to campus when possible. the university has focusse on ensuring that online elivery an assessment of courses continues to be high quality, engaging an interactive, an we are prou of the work our acaemic community is oing to achieve this.
stuents commencing their program offshore utilising online course elivery will have the option of enrolling full-time ﹙40 creit points﹚ or part-time ﹙10-30 creit points﹚ to suit their iniviual circumstances, although we encourage them to consier how this will impact the stuy plan for their program when making this ecision. a very small number of programs cannot be commence in trimester 2 as full online elivery cannot be accommoate for these programs.
we will be reissuing offers to stuents who have been mae offers for commencement in trimester 2, 2020, reflecting the new start ate an the university＇s plan to commence the semester with online elivery of courses. we will also be making offers to new applicants who wish to commence their stuies in trimester 2 through online elivery. we are working to aress questions regaring the assessment of school qualifications, recognising that the ates of school assessments in many countries have been ajuste, an to provie information regaring how coes an ohsc will be manage. we are also awaiting avice from the epartment of home affairs regaring the impact of commencing stuy offshore on access to post stuy work rights.
i am please to avise that we will assess agent commission on a pro-rata basis for stuent enrolment while offshore, base on iniviual enrolment. for example, if a stuent chooses to enrol in two online courses in trimester 2 2020, agent commission will be pai for these courses. once a stuent transitions onshore an unertakes full-time enrolment, we will pay the remainer of the commission we woul normally pay for enrolment in 80 creit points ﹙first year equivalent﹚, an we will reconcile this once the stuent has complete an appropriate number of trimesters. it is important that stuents are able to commit to an online stuy loa that they are confient they can manage, an we want to ensure you are not penalise if stuents choose not to commit to a full-time stuy loa.
