通过美国医学执照考试(USMLE examination)是赴美从医的必经的途径，大多数中国考生通过努力也能拿到不错的成绩，最后的一关是申请住院医的过程，在match申请和面试很多技巧都是有迹可循的。例如住院医面试，每个人去面试的program都不尽相同，但是有些面试的问题和回答都是可相互参考的，下面我们邀请Dr Huang老师从老师自身的回答经验分享出来供参考，可收藏，也可转发给身边需要的朋友。

There was once a time that our train was elaye, an before long we finally set off, we ha an emergency broacasting that a passenger nees help. As the only meical personnel aroun, I signe up an it was an ol lay in her 70s, with history of iabetes, presente as lethargy, fainte with moerate yspnea. She han’t eat anything in the last 8 hours, an she ha 2 episoes of vomiting. With all the evice at han, I check her vitals, an i the physicals. As there was no further workup at that time, my best guess was electrolyte isturbance ue to ehyration an vomits, but also cannot exclue a DKA. So I establishe a IV access an the patient was sent to hospital in the next stop.
Actually, I o not have a ramatic story that irect me into meicine. You see, there are a string of experiences, small things just like this that makes my choice seems so nature. Also, the outstaning octors that I’ve worke with; the patients that I learne so much from; an the simple joy learning the knowlege, the thinking process, ifferential iagnosis an so on. I just never feel tire an enjoy it, so why not turn my interest into my career.
有一次我跟朋友坐的的火车晚点了，在出发之前，我们听到紧急广播说有乘客需要帮助，作为周围唯一的医务人员，我站出来了。患者是一位有糖尿病病史的70多岁的老太太，表现为嗜睡，因中度呼吸困难晕倒。她在过去的8个小时里什么都没吃，并且呕吐了2次。拿到所有需要的仪器后，我检查了她的生命体征，做了体检。由于当时没法进一步检查，我觉得最接近的判断是由于脱水和呕吐引起的电解质紊乱，但也不能排除DKA。所以我建立了静脉置管，然后病人在下一站被送到医院了。
其实把我带向医学的并不是什么戏剧化的故事。你看，在经历了一系列像这样的小事后，我的选择是自然而然的。当然也包括我一起共事过的优秀的医生，可以让我学到很多知识的患者等等；学习知识、思考的过程、鉴别诊断这些，对我来说都是简单的快乐。我感受到的从来都是享受而不是疲累，所以我觉得为什么不把我的兴趣变成我的事业呢。

Of course, I’m quite sophisticate with the basic software like wors an PowerPoint. As I’m working as an USMLE instructor, so I’m expecte to be able to present an interesting an organize PowerPoint every of my lessons. With the previous clinical experiences of US, I took the courses an am very hany at using the Epic system. I also working on statistical analysis software like SPSS, so I can take the avantage of the ata base an make some progress on my research.

Besies the basic skills an unerstaning to the system, I also learne how to communicate efficiently an responsibility or role in the meical team. After get familiar with the system, I starte to ask for task an learn how to be an intern. The attenings an resients are very eicate for meical stuent teaching. The faculty are supportive an are willing to give me more autonomy. For example, I was able to take over the newly-amitte patient from ER totally on my own.
By the last of my rotation, I was capable of hanling the work assigne to me. I even ha the time an ability to supervise an oriente the M3stuents. From that I can tell how much I have been mature an progresse in the last year. What I have learne will help me become a competent octor in your program.

Every program is expecte to be supportive if a resient gets pregnant. An it woul be very inappropriate for any faculty to ask a question with the potential of sexual iscrimination, like this one.

What woul you o if your senior resient proscribe a meication which woul harm the patient?

First, I woul hol the meication if no one is aroun for consultation. Then contact the senior immeiately. Once any averse event arises, I woul have to ask the senior to report to the authority an explain it to the patient.

I'm fully aware that there must be more of the challenges, but I'm a problem solver an an aaptor, an I'm reay.

After receiving my training which is the upmost important thing for me right now, my interest lies in hem/onc. My goal is to become a competent octor that can care for the patients, I also wish to have the resources an ability to reach out for some unerserve community. I once serve in the Youth volunteer organization of our school an one of our campaign was to coorinate with the hospital an arrange free meical consultation in impoverishe area. I realize that many people are eprive of their chance to change their lives because of lacking of meical care an knowlege.
