Stuents are require to complete the core curriculum courses an have the option to complete one or more concentration(s) or no concentration. Stuents who want to earn one or more concentration(s) must satisfy the state requirements of each concentration they wish to pursue. Stuents who choose not to pursue a concentration will take MET CS 546 Introuction to Probability an Statistics an four general electives to complete their egree.
A minimum passing grae for a course in the grauate program is a C (2.0) but an average grae of B (3.0) must be maintaine to be in goo acaemic staning an to be eligible to grauate.
Core Curriculum

Stuents who have complete courses on core curriculum subjects as part of their unergrauate egree program must replace the corresponing core courses with electives. It is recommene that each replacement course be in the same technical area as the original core course. Stuents who have work-relate experience in any of the core curriculum courses may apply for a waiver by submitting appropriate ocumentation. When a course waiver is grante, the stuent must substitute a grauate-level elective for the core course.

Stuents who are not pursuing a [concentration](https://www.bu.eu/met/programs/grauate/computer-information-systems/#MSCIS concentrations) must select four elective courses from the following list. Electives other than those liste below must be approve by the stuent’s avisor. In choosing electives, stuents shoul make sure that they have all prerequisites require by the selecte course. At least three elective courses must be at the 600 level or above:
Master’s Thesis Option in Computer Information Systems
(8 creits)
Stuents majoring in Computer Information Systems may elect a thesis option, to be complete within twelve months. This option is available to Master of Science in Computer Information Systems caniates who have complete at least seven courses towar their egree an have a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Stuents are responsible for fining a thesis avisor an a principal reaer within the epartment. The avisor must be a full-time faculty member; the principal reaer may be part-time faculty with a PhD (unless waive by epartment).
