罢工的原因
引起这次罢工行动的导火索，便是养老金的问题
据悉，在今年8月份的高校退休金计划（USS）会议上，英国大学将教职员工薪酬的退休金扣除比例上调，从原来的8.8%提升到9.6%。
并且，该比例还有可能于2021年时增加至11%。
UCU表示，英国大学没有采取任何措施来解决教职员工薪酬下降的问题。在过去十年中，英国大学教职员工的实际收入下降了21％
英国高校的养老金，和国内五险一金里养老保险交的方式差不多，一部分由单位承担，一部分由个人从工资里扣除。
谈判委员的这个方案中，提出要将养老金总比例提升至30.7%，其中学校承担21.1%，个人承担9.6%。
然后按照这样的方案先试运行一年试试，如果发现还不够的话，就默认在2021年10月再提升一次。
第二次，提升至总共34.7%，学校承担23.7%，员工承担11%。

虽然听起来是好事，养老金的比例增加……但实际上，就是自己拿到手的工资，又降低了！
之前每个月扣除8.8%，这次如果同意了，就可能会变成每个月扣11%！
每个月突然就少了2.2%的工资
教职员工们的实际收入本来就少的可怜，该消息一出，他们可坐不住了，在UCU的支持下再次发起了罢工投票！
60所英国大学的教职员工同意针对退休金、工资和工作条件等问题进行罢工行动。
今年6月，UCU曾致信各英国大学，称教职员工退休金扣除比例应限制在8%以内，额外费用应由英国大学来承担。
UCU表示，如果英国大学想阻止这次罢工行动，必须尽快给出明确的解决方案。
谁引发的罢工行为
这次的罢工，是UCU发起的。
UCU，University an College Union，英国大学和学院联盟，代表各教育机构的12万教职员工维护自己的利益的工会，也是世界上最大的高等教育联盟。
一般来说，罢工的理由基本上都是待遇薪酬问题。
