一年级学生点击First Year Stuents，转学生点击Transfer Stuents。
第一次使用请点击create an account来创建账号，已有账号的输入账号密码登录即可。
创建账号：
第一步，选择你的身份（一年级学生、转学生、学校教授或家长）
第二步，填写你的申请邮箱和密码，这将是你common系统的账号和密码，请牢牢记住，不要忘了。
最后一步，输入你的相关信息，包括姓名、电话、出生日期、申请年份等。
这样，账号就创建完毕了，登录你的账户，点击college search来搜索你将申请的大学，可使用关键词进行搜索，有时会出来好几所大学，注意选择你要申请的大学。
选择完毕，你的大学将会出现在My Colleges版块里，点进去可以看到该学校的联系信息、申请截止日期、申请费等相关信息。
点击Dashboar可以看到学校的相关信息，包括截止日期和是否有写作要求，也可以删除学校。
申请人的通用信息主要体现在common app这一块。Common app分为七个部分，它们分别是Profile, Family, Eucation, Testing, Activities, Writing, Courses & Graes.
1. Profile
Personal Information（姓名、曾用名、性别和出生日期）
Aress（注意有永久地址与临时地址，永久地址写家里，临时地址写公司，时间可延续到第二年年底）
Contact Details
Demographics（宗教信仰、是否在美国服兵役、是西班牙裔还是拉丁裔、你的国籍）
Geography（注意分清出生城市和现居住城市）
Language
Citizenship（若目前持有签证，需要写出签证的种类、签证号和发行日期）
Common App Fee Waiver
2. Family
Househol（如实填写）
Parent 1、Parent 2（带星号为必须写的部分，父母教育背景的部分，大学需要搜索，若列表中没有，则手动输入）
Sibling
3. Eucation
Current or Most Recent Seconary School（学校需要搜索，若列表中无，再手动输入）
Other Seconary Schools（写初中或转学的学校，要具体写出为什么离开这所学校）
Colleges & Universities
Graes（写出大致的班级人数，GPA要与成绩单上的相对应）
Current or Most Recent Year Courses（写出目前在读课程的名称等相关信息）
Honors
Community-Base Organizations
Future Plans（写出职业目标和欲获得的最高学位）
4. Testing（写出参加过的英语考试以及考试时间和具体分数）
5. Activities（写出活动类型，担任的职位，参与的时间，具体做的事等）最多写10个
6. Writing（有的学校有自己单独的essay，有的没有，根据你申请的学校来定，所有学生都需要写common系统通用的essay）
以下为essay题目，从中选一个写作即可。
"The essay emonstrates your ability to write clearly an concisely on a selecte topic an helps you istinguish yourself in your own voice. What o you want the reaers of your application to know about you apart from courses, graes, an test scores? Choose the option that best helps you answer that question an write an essay of no more than 650 wors, using the prompt to inspire an structure your response. Remember: 650 wors is your limit, not your goal. Use the full range if you nee it, but on't feel obligate to o so. (The application won't accept a response shorter than 250 wors.)
Some stuents have a backgroun, ientity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application woul be incomplete without it. If this souns like you, then please share your story.
The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be funamental to later success. Recount a time when you face a challenge, setback, or failure. How i it affect you, an what i you learn from the experience?
Reflect on a time when you questione or challenge a belief or iea. What prompte your thinking? What was the outcome?
Describe a problem you've solve or a problem you' like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical ilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you an what steps you took or coul be taken to ientify a solution.
Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparke a perio of personal growth an a new unerstaning of yourself or others.
Describe a topic, iea, or concept you fin so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why oes it captivate you? What or who o you turn to when you want to learn more?
Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've alreay written, one that respons to a ifferent prompt, or one of your own esign.
7. Courses & Graes（有的学校会要求自报成绩，根据所选择的学校而定，需要写出学科名称，分数，一共几学期等信息，严格按照成绩单上写的来）
以上就是common app中的内容，在my colloeges版块下也会有各自独立的问题，包括何时入学，去哪个学院、喜欢学校的哪个活动，之前是否申请过该学校等。再完成了这两个部分，common系统的申请才算全部填完，可以进行下一步的递交与付费工作了。
