德克萨斯州居民来说，如果你在高中排名前10％，你就有资格获得大多数德克萨斯州公立大学的录取。德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校的学校要求稍高一些，需要德州高中新生申请者中排名前6％才能保证入学。国际学生满足在德州4年学习时间，也适用于此原则，这也是德州奥斯汀越来越难录取的原因之一。
休斯顿大学，还提供了如下保证录取条件：
