Dear Chinese stuents,
In light of the Chinese government’s recent warning about the risks of stuying in the Unite States, we want to reassure our Chinese stuents an scholars that they are critical to Northwestern University’s mission, an we are committe to assisting them in the visa process. To ate, we have seen no visas enie for Chinese stuents an scholars who are coming to Northwestern, an we will continue to make efforts to help them in the process if they experience problems.
Northwestern is committe to being an inclusive an welcoming place for all international stuents. We cannot fulfill our mission to prouce the highest caliber of research an solve problems of global significance without attracting the best talent in the worl. To meet those goals, we envision an increase in the number of Chinese an international stuents an scholars at Northwestern in the years to come.
In mi-June, the Office of International Stuents an Scholars (OISS, formerly the International Office) will be represente in China -- in Shanghai, Beijing an Guangzhou -- for pre-eparture orientations. We look forwar to welcoming the next group of Chinese stuents to Northwestern in September as they begin the next step of their acaemic journey.
OISS an iniviual schools an programs will continue to help make our Chinese stuents feel welcome in an open an collaborative atmosphere. OISS helps simplify an streamline the requirements international stuents have to meet in orer to facilitate realizing their acaemic goals. OISS also works with stuents if there are issues in the visa application process, an can assist Chinese an other international stuents when problems arise.
