我们都知道，中国的教育模式复制的是美国，因此中国的本科与美国一样采取的是4年制，因此中国的学位申请美国研究生是没有任何障碍的。而英国、加拿大和澳大利亚等英联邦国家采取的3年制本科。大多数美国院校也都能够接受3年制本科，但以下几个学校是个例外。

澳大利亚的要求，要求澳洲留学的学生需要一个4年制的本科或者澳洲的荣誉学位才能申请美国的研究生。如果在澳洲读的是3年制的本科学位就需要再读个荣誉学位或者修个双专业，以满足该校对四年制学位的要求；
对加拿大学位的要求：4年制的本科学位，荣誉学位，魁北克省的3年制学位是能够认可的。
对英国的学位要求：3-4年的本科学位，并且是一等学位（英国的一等学位一般是前20%的人能够获得，接下来就是二等一学位，二等二学位，三等学位），苏格兰地区要求必须是硕士学位（3年本科+1年硕士）。
