这是该机构第五年对全球顶级大学进行排名，共对74个国家的1250所高等学府进行了排名！它不仅对每个大学的本科及研究生教育水平进行整合，并对学校的学术研究与业界声誉做出评价。排名参考因素有一点变化，但和去年大同小异，依然侧重科研水平和发文章的数量和质量，今年共有13项指标衡量排名，具体指标及权重如下：

Top100里面美国占据46所！英国12所！中国大陆2所，清华大学冲进Top50，北京大学第68位！中国香港与台湾都是“0”，表现最好的香港大学第103位！国立台湾大学第174位！
在前20名里也只一个名次给了加拿大的多伦多大学（第20名），英国3个名次（牛津、剑桥、帝国理工），其他全被美国占据。
