① 医博类 (Meical/Doctoral) —— 顶尖 985 ：如多大 - 清华
优秀的医学类大学都拥有广泛的博士项目，并且都有医学院， 学术实力强，科研经费高， 是留学的首选。
② 综合类 (Comprehensive) —— 985 ：如滑铁卢 - 武大
综合类大学拥有大量的研究项目和广泛的本科及研究生水平的课程 ，无独立医学院，部分专业也涵盖博士点。
③ 基础类 ( Primarily unergrauate) —— 211 ：如圣玛丽 - 南大
基础类大学重点在本科教育，研究生项目比较少 ，小部分专业涵盖博士点，学校均采用小班授课保证学术质量。
在最新的 QS世界商学院报告中，有4所加拿大名牌大学获得了非常好的成绩，它们分别是： 多伦多大学 (University of Toronto)的Rotman School of Management、 麦吉尔大学 (McGill University)的Desautels Faculty of Management、 西安大略大学 (University of Western Ontario)的Ivey School of Business、 英属哥伦比亚大学 (University of British Columbia)的Sauer School of Business。
