之前看过一个学医博主的微博，有句话很打动我：我选择医疗事业，部分原因是想对抗死神；抓住他，掀开他神秘的斗篷，与他坚定地四目相对。可能也是因为家庭的原因，很多学医的学生，在某种动机上都让我敬佩不已。
留学其实也是一样的，因为各种因素的限制，可能临床专业是没有办法申请的。因此，公共卫生成为了新的选择。公共卫生是关系到一个国家或者一个地区人民大众健康的公共事业，涉及内容广泛，从对重大疾病尤其是传染病（如结核、艾滋病、SARS、新冠等）的预防、监控和医治，到对食品、药品、公共环境卫生的监督管制，再到相关的卫生宣传、健康教育及免疫接种，都是公共卫生的具体工作对象。
Public Health公共卫生专业一般设在英国大学的医学系下。剑桥大学、爱丁堡大学、伦敦大学学院（UCL）、帝国理工学院、邓迪大学、布里斯托大学、格拉斯哥大学、莱斯特大学、纽卡斯尔大学、诺丁汉大学、利兹大学、卡迪夫大学等。
值得一提的是邓迪大学 University of Dundee，英国TIMES泰晤士报Public Health公共卫生专业排名No.15。
